Police State UK is intended as an information source for people who are concerned about the direction politics and policing have taken in the UK. Listed below are some of the issues that have caught our attention recently:

State surveillance - Britain ranks worryingly high in Privacy International's charts for state use and abuse of surveillance technology.
Civil liberties - the UK allows detention without charge for longer than any other western nation, and there is still talk of extending this further.
Censorship - recent legislation regarding 'hate speech' gives the government a route to suppress information which they disapprove of.
Rioting police - aggressive, excessively violent policing of protests and demonstrations.
