The Guardian has been hit with a gagging order preventing it from reporting on a question in parliament this week. From their article: "The Guardian is prevented from identifying the MP who has asked the question, what the question is, which minister might answer it, or where the question is to be found."
If something is important enough (and non-secret enough) to be discussed in a full session of parliament (as opposed to a closed committee), I can't off-hand think of a good reason why we shouldn't be allowed to hear about it. Can you?
Update: as per usual, we find that the Internet is a serious problem for bans on free speech. The Spectator have a report including "the question in, um, question", as do many other blogs.
